A Proper Tattoo Needle Plays a Vital Role for a Good Tattoo

A tattoo machine is a hand-held device generally used to create a tattoo, a permanent marking of the skin with indelible ink. Modern tattoo machines use electromagnetic coils to move an armature bar up and down, connected to say armature bar is a barred needle grouping that pushes ink into the skin. Tattoo artists generally use the term "machine", or even "iron", to refer to their equipment. The word "gun" is often used but is looked down upon by professional artists. A tattoo needle is actually (usually) a group of several small needles called sharps attached to a needle bar. Needles can be made in groups of 3, 5, 7 or more, depending on what the artist is comfortable with and what the design calls for. Occasionally, a single needle can be used for fine lining, but this is not very common. The sharps are soldered to a needle bar, and the bar is placed in the tattoo machine through a tube.

Tattoo needle groups also come in different shapes such as round (for lining) and flat (for shading). You can stab the back end of the needle into a hard pencil eraser. You have to boil them together. You may have to clip the needle until the pointed end of the needle is sticking about one centimeter off the eraser edge of the pencil. Dip the tip of the needle in the sanitizer.
